Mental Health & Addictions Support, FOR INDIVIDUALS & FAMILIES

What can I expect for the Virtual and Hybrid Programs?

First and foremost, staying abstinent from drugs and alcohol must be your top priority, one day at a time.  For those persons who need extra support in the beginning, we offer a stay in residence at TeDDs to establish abstinence, followed by online completion of the program.  We refer to this as our Hybrid Program.

People participating in the Virtual program are expected to commit a minimum of 2 1/2 hours daily, 5 days a week with check-ins on the remaining 2 days.   Our team is also available throughout your program for discussions with you and family members as needed.
5 days a week, you'll be introduced to the material gradually through our custom video series, complete an assignment and have a 45 minute discussion via Zoom with your primary consultant at TeDDs.

We'll also be giving you lifestyle recommendations and developing solutions for you which we will track your progress on.  We also highly recommend you purchase a Muse 2 device which you'll use daily and send results to us.

Depending on your circumstances, family members and loved ones may also wish to see some of the educational material to understand how this has affected everybody in your social circle.

Expect success and expect positive change daily.  Addiction need not be a life sentence but a painful life experience you'll make positive life changes from and need never revisit.

What does evidence-based mean?

Evidence-based means that the material subject and content has undergone a rigorous scientific process. The concept has been tested through valid studies which may include laboratory and high technology imaging tests.

As trained researchers as well as practitioners, the TeDDs program material is based on training and study of top-notch research journals including Behavioural Neuroscience, Neuron, and Neuropsychopharmacology.  We also contribute to leading scientific knowledge through our own study and presentations to highest quality conferences and journals.

We are unique in Canada to this approach. Our results show that persons with addictions and family members recover best through a full understanding of what addiction truly is, how it develops, and how to recover from it.

How does the TeDDs' Programs compare to others?

As part of our research work, we were engaged in 2014 by the provincial government to do a full exploration of 'best practices' in residential rehab for addictions.  Results across all centers reporting consistently demonstrated poor recovery rates at the one year point.  Our research continued in search of developing an alternate approach, which also brought in the positive from other programs.

New diagnostic testing available only since 2012 have finally allowed the ability to accurately put the pieces together of this highly complex disorder.  TeDDs has the ability to focus assessment and treatment on the actual underlying structures and functions in the brain of the addicted person. Understanding and recommendations accelerate healing of this part of the brain where the neural networks for addiction are developing or have taken hold of the person.

Personalized, intensive support through TeDDs using our unique therapies such as neurofeedback, education and exercises.  While this may seem like complex material, we excel at teaching persons of all educational levels to understand and embrace the reality of addiction and the pathway out of it to a healthy, prosperous life.

Our results are extraordinary: not only do the vast majority of people put addiction behind them, our former clients report exceptional, positive changes in all life aspects within the first year.
